Purpose

  • Use aluminum extrusion to support and guide opening and closing of shutter. When sensor detects the product on the belt conveyor shutter will open.
  • Aluminum support frame is placed directly on the frame of belt conveyor.

      F= 0.5 × 0.4 × π / 4 × 16² = 40N
      Force needed to operate the shutter is 10N. Cylinder is properly sized. (40N>10N)

Other Design Consideration

  • The use of a floating joint at the cylinder tip allows the shutter to open/close smoothly along the extrusion slots.
  • Provide some clearance to prevent skewing in the slots by mounting panel in the 6mm wide slots.
