Mist Fans

Mist fans are cooling equipment items that lower the surrounding temperature using the heat of vaporization generated by diffusing water in the form of mist. Use of mist fans can lower the surrounding temperature between about 3 and 5°C. They are also used to inhibit dust, increase humidity and prevent static electricity in plants and warehouses. They are used at livestock sites to reduce livestock heat-induced stress, and provide deodorizing and similar benefits. Types are available that mount on existing factory fans. They can have water supplied by a faucet attachment or from a self-contained tank supply. Movable types come with an integrated tank, enabling use anywhere. Accessory supplies include mist nozzles mounted on the end of a hose, and types that attach to a faucet for use. Water sources such as industrial water and well water contain mineral components, so are not used to prevent possible clogging. Tap water is always used.
