Cooling fans are compact movable coolers for use by small groups. They are also known as spot coolers or portable air conditioners. They feature an integrated cooler body and outdoor unit. Their compact, portable design makes them suitable for use in food industry kitchens lacking effective coolers, for breaks while working outdoors, and for localized cooling in plants or warehouses. Cooling fans can be made more effective by discharging the heat from the ventilation duct outside. Heat buildup can be eliminated such as by using a ventilation duct to release the heat from a rooftop exhaust fan, or by mounting the equipment in a window frame. Evaporative cooling fans use the evaporation heat of the water to create a cool breeze, so produce no exhaust heat. They are also known for having lower power consumption than air conditioners or standard cooling fans. Portable wheeled cooling fan models are available, along with models enabling temperature settings.
