VENN Silencers for Steam Plumbing
A steam pipe silencer is a component that suppresses the sound and vibration generated when hot water is made by putting steam into water. There are F types, S types, and lotus root types, all of which are small and can be attached to the tip of the pipe and used when heating open hot water baths and bathtubs. The F type is the simplest structure that mixes water and steam and discharges it from the outlet. The S type, like a cup, mixes with water by injecting steam from a nozzle into the water. The lotus root type produces warm water by the steam being drawn into the surrounding water, achieving low noise and low vibration. The S types and lotus root types feature a maximum temperature at which the sound damping effect can be expected to be as high as 90 degrees or higher compared to the F type. Backflow into the pipe when the steam is stopped can be prevented by installing a valve that adjusts the vacuum.
