Paper Shredders
Paper shredders are machines that cut up media so it cannot be read in order to prevent leakage of personal information, confidential documents, and the like. There is a wide range of types available including scissors made up of many blades linked together, manual types that shred by turning a handle, and electric types that automatically shred large volumes. While capacity differs by individual paper shredder, some can shred as much as 100 sheets or more of A4 copy paper at once. Cut size also varies with a strip-shaped straight cut, confetti-shaped cross-cut, ultrafine micro cross cut, and the like available, and the level of security increases the narrower the cut. There are also many that handle media such as CD-Rs, DVDs, and floppy discs, and size of the paper cut, dust box capacity, and the like must be selected according to the application the shredder is used for.
