ROHM Switching Regulators
Switching regulators are components that convert and output direct current or alternating current voltage to different values. It features a high conversion efficiency which can be obtained by this. The major advantage of using a switching regulator is that in addition to reducing power consumption and suppressing heat generation, it is also possible to convert the voltage into boost, high voltage, and negative voltage. In addition, the enhanced functions eliminate the need for peripheral components, and in some cases contribute to space savings. Types are categorized by input power supply, circuit style, function and operation method. Typical types are insulated and non-insulated types. The insulated type is one in which the input and output parts are insulated, and is used when high safety is required in the event of a failure such as medical equipment, industrial equipment, etc. Non-insulated types are used for general equipment that has conduction between input and output and does not need to be insulated.
