Screwdriver are tools to secure or remove screws. By turning the shaft, screws can be secured by tightening or removed by loosening. The tip is of a shape that fits the groove in the head of the screw. Screwdrivers with a flat tip are called flathead screwdrivers and those with a cross-head are called cross-head screwdrivers. There are a variety of tips with other shapes as well, such as hex, Torx, box, and round nut. There are also those for tuning very small screws such as for watches, those with shortened lengths that can be used in narrow spaces, electric types that are turned by motors, those with magnets on the tip, and many other types that can be selected according to the application they are used for.
