Humidity Sensors
Humidity sensors are sensors that measure the humidity in the air or at a defined location. Depending on the method of detecting humidity, it can be divided into two types: resistance change type and capacitance change type. The resistance change type is a mechanism that senses the moisture absorbed by moisture-sensitive material as electrical resistance. It can be miniaturized, is resistant to high humidity and dew, and is durable. The capacitance change type is a mechanism that senses the moisture absorbed by moisture-sensitive material as capacitance. The resistance change type cannot detect low humidity due to its mechanism, but the capacitance type can also measure low humidity. It has a fast response speed even when the humidity changes drastically. Each has its strengths and weaknesses, so it is necessary to select them according to the conditions such as the operating environment, used purpose, and the object to be installed.
