Optical Surface Plates
An optical surface plate is a table that is used for conducting optical experiments, and for using optical microscopes and measuring instruments. It is a thin type with a thickness of about 50 mm to 60 mm and can be easily placed on an existing stand or laboratory table to create a space for optical experiments. The material inside is a honeycomb structure made of aluminum or stainless steel, and it achieves a high degree of vibration damping which allows accurate experiments, measurements and work. The surface plate is made of highly durable stainless steel, and many types have tapped holes. Magnetic stands can also be used for those made of magnetized stainless steel. Sizes range from as small as 300 mm x 300 mm to as large as 2,400 mm x 1,200 mm, and can be selected according to the application. There is also a cleanroom type.
