Adjustment Screws

Adjustment screws are essential components in precision machinery, offering versatile applications across factory automation, jigs, fixtures, and precision instruments. Available in various types, including full-threaded, hex, and knurled options, these screws come in sizes ranging from M3 to M24 and lengths from 8.5 mm to 150 mm, with both coarse and fine thread pitches to meet different adjustment needs. Manufactured from durable materials like S45C steel and SUS304 stainless steel, they ensure longevity and resistance to corrosion. Their precise construction allows for accurate adjustments, making them indispensable for maintaining alignment, tension, and positioning in complex mechanical systems.

Guidelines for Selecting Adjustment Screws

Choosing the right adjustment screws (or leveling feet) will help ensure that machinery or worktables are stable, easy to level, and safe for long-term use, especially in industrial plants or production lines with uneven floors.

  • Load Capacity per Foot: Calculate the weight of the machinery and how that weight will be distributed across all the feet. For example, if a machine weighs 500 kg and has 4 feet → each foot should support at least 125 kg (it's recommended to add a safety margin of 20–30%).
  • Screw Size and Length: Choose a screw length sufficient for the required upward and downward adjustment based on the floor level. Check the structure for tapped holes or through-holes and their corresponding sizes (e.g., M10, M12, M16, M20, etc.).
  • Screw and Base Material: Select materials suitable for the environment, such as Zinc-Plated Steel (affordable, moderate rust resistance), Stainless Steel SUS304 (good rust resistance, strong), Plastic/Nylon (for the base) (vibration dampening, non-marking).
  • Rubber Pad Base?: If the machine needs vibration isolation or will be placed on a slippery surface → rubber pad bases are recommended. Rubber pads help reduce noise, vibration, and impact.
  • Top or Bottom Adjustment?: Some models can be adjusted from the top using a hex key or wrench, which is suitable for machinery with bases close to the floor or difficult to access.
  • Lock Nut?: Use a lock nut when you need to secure the screw position after leveling to prevent movement and loosening due to vibration.
