Fluid piping fittings are sometimes referred to as fluid couplings, which are also called couplings, fittings, luer locks, or simply fittings, joints and connectors. Furthermore, one-touch type fittings are called coupling, quick disconnect, quick coupling, quick fitting, etc. In particular, push button fittings are called thumb latch type.
Many coupling shapes are female and male, and the male side is sometimes called an insert.
Rivets, bolts and welding are used for joining steel frames and steel plates used for buildings; in wooden buildings, these are called fittings when they are joined in the length direction of the parts

· Reducer: Changes the pipe size
· Tee: Representative merged junction
