MISUMI Electric Discharge Jigs
Electric discharge jigs are jigs that hold workpieces and are used for electric discharge machining in metalworking. Electric discharge machining is a method of mechanical machining to remove part of the surface of a workpiece by repeated arc discharging between electrodes and the workpiece in short cycles. It is mainly applied to hard metals that could not be machined with conventional mechanical machining. Electric discharge machining can be used to easily cut and machine hard steel and titanium. However, electric discharge machining can only be used on materials that conduct electricity. Also, it must be noted that small cracks and scratches easily occur on the machined surface due to residual stress being generated by electric discharge machining. Jigs and holders are used in order not to put a burden on workers from electric discharge machining or cracks and the like.
