MISUMI Round Bar Electrodes
Round bar electrodes are cylindrical electrode blanks. Some electrodes have minimal decrease in hardness and tensile strength even when used at high temperatures, and these are widely used as electrodes for electric discharge machining, electrodes for resistance welding, electrical components, and in the chemical industry. There are various types of round bar electrodes such as electrode shanks and electrodes for hex wrench holes. For electrode shanks, process time can be shortened by omitting the electrode bonding process. Round bar electrode materials including very high purity oxygen-free copper which is resistant to high temperatures, tellurium copper (free-cutting copper) which has improved machinability to oxygen-free copper through the addition of tellurium, tough-pitch copper which has excellent conductivity, and copper tungsten which has high heat resistance and consists of tungsten with copper added can be selected according to the operating environment. In addition, caution is required that many sizes of undersized tapping electrode are used for tapping high hardness steel, and that the tip diameter is smaller than the screw size.
