MISUMI Plate Electrodes
A plate electrode is a type of electrode blank mainly used for die-sinking electric discharge machining. It is called a plate electrode because it has a flat plate shape, and its main purpose is to make molds. The material used may be silver or graphite, but copper-based products are the mainstream. There is a wide range of products which make good use of the characteristics of each type of copper, such as copper-tungsten that is fast in processing speed and hard to wear, oxygen-free copper that does not contain oxygen and is resistant to high temperatures, chrome copper that has high hardness and is suitable for spot welding, and tellurium copper that has excellent machinability. Since there are many part numbers for every product, it is necessary to select the size that matches the mold to be created. In addition, depending on the material and part number, there are cases where it is forged mill scale instead of rolled, so it is necessary to confirm in advance.
