MISUMI Glass Tube Fuses
Glass tube fuses are electronic components that protects the electrical circuit from current that greatly exceeds the rated current and prevents accidents from overheating, etc. When excessive current passes through the electrical circuit, the joule heating melts the metallic alloy component inside the fuse, protecting the circuit. Various types are available, such as normal blowout fuses, fuses filled with arc-extinguishing medium, miniature glass tube fuses, and more. The fuses often feature PC glass in the glass tube portion, copper end caps with nickel plating, and zinc element. The ampere rating of glass tube fuses should exceed that of the electrical appliance where the fuse is installed, but should not exceed the maximum capacity of the wiring. Also, the inside of the tube is visible and allows for easy inspection of whether the fuse element is broken or not. Glass tube fuses are available with different features such as copper links, flat miniature sizes, and more, and should be selected according to application.
