RS Pro Cutters
Utility knives are cutting tools with a replaceable blade used to cut paper and other materials in a straight line. There are various types of utility knives, including standard types used in an office to cut thin copy paper and heavy-duty types that can even cut thin plywood. Utility knives with a snap-off blade are the mainstream. This type of blade can be snapped off at the edge to regain the original sharpness once it becomes dull. 9-mm-wide blades are commonly used for office applications, but there are various types with a wider blade and an ability to cut thick materials. The blade edge angle is normally around 60 degrees, but there are also utility knives for craftwork with a blade angle of around 30 degrees to enable more detailed work. There are various types of utility knives, including products with a retractable blade that can be replaced and products with a non-slip grip. Choose a product that suits your application. There are also dial-lock type and auto-lock type blade locking mechanisms, but the latter is more convenient as it allows for quicker adjustment of the blade edge to a suitable length.
