ROHM Optical Fiber Transmissions
Optical fiber transmission products are electrical components that transmit and receives optical signals and convert optical signals to and from electrical signals in optical communication. An optical fiber transceiver consists of an integrated optical fiber transmitter as an optical transmitter and an optical fiber receiver as an optical receiver. It converts electrical signals sent from devices into optical signals and transmits them down an optical fiber cable. It also serves to convert optical signals from a cable into electrical signals. Optical fiber transceivers are classified into SFP, QSFP, and other types according to their shape. SFP+ is an extension of SFP, and although the shape is the same, SFP+ supports up to 10 Gbps while the transmission speed of SFP is around 1 Gbps. QSFP+ can support up to 40 Gbps. Note that the usable wavelength bands differ depending on the model.
