Explosion-Proof Hand Tools
Explosion-proof tools are tools used in workplaces where there is a possibility of combustion or ignition due to metal friction. They include tools such as scissors, cutters, putty knives and dustpans, and are used in places where gas may be generated, such as paint factories, chemical plants and gas stations. Their bodies are made of non-magnetic, corrosion-resistant and flame-retardant materials such as beryllium copper and aluminum bronze, while glass fiber is used for their handles. There are standards for explosion-proof tools which are certified by international organizations such as UKAS (the United Kingdom Accreditation Service) and the US approval body FM Approvals, or FMRC 4910 standard. Certification covers matters including product uniformity and uniform quality control. You need to make sure that tools are certified for your application.
