Pipe Electrodes

A pipe electrode is a member for machining fine holes and deep holes by electrical discharge machining. It is used for starting holes for wire electric discharge machining or when machining parts by attaching it to a fine hole machine. Hole types consist of a hollow type, straight-line type, and cylindrical-rod type. There are features depending on the hole type and electrode material. The hollow type can process faster than a straight-line type. In the case of the straight-line type, the core does not remain due to rotation processing, and high-precision processing is possible because arc generation is suppressed. Also in terms of material, copper phosphate and brass have different characteristics. Brass can process faster than copper phosphate. On the other hand, copper phosphate can process with higher precision than brass. Therefore, it is necessary to select the electrode by checking the hole shape, material, and overall length, which will differ depending on the location and method of use.
