[What is a high speed steel drill?]
A type of milling cutter. A drill that uses high speed steel (abbreviated as HSS). High speed steel is made by adding large amounts of metal ingredients such as chromium, tungsten, molybdenum, or vanadium to steel for the purpose of enhancing the hardness and softening resistance under high temperature. After applying heat treatment such as quenching, it is formed by polishing for use. Compared to cemented carbide, it has lesser abrasion resistance, but it is high in toughness.
