Scissors
Scissors are a tool that cut material inserted between a pair of blades. Generally scissors are made right-handed, but there are also left-handed and ambidextrous scissors. Various product types are developed for different applications, such as compact types sold as stationery, heavy-duty types with large grips enabling to cut electric cables and plants, single-blade types used for cutting rubber and hoses, long-blade types that can be used for dressmaking and office work, etc. The functionality of scissors is diverse; some scissors have rounded tips to enhance safety, and there are also scissors with fluoropolymer coating to protect them from dirt or rusting, or ergonomically designed scissors to improve comfort of users. Thread cutter scissors are an example of irregularly-shaped scissors made specifically for particular applications.
