Thyristors
A thyristor is a three-terminal semiconductor element that enables conduction between the anode and cathode by inputting a gate signal. The thyristor turns on only during forward bias. It is widely used for applications such as industrial DC drives, ship / rail propulsion systems, wind power converters, etc. Triacs are also included in thyristors. In the case of a triac, it is often used for AC bidirectional switching control, etc. because it is turned on by the input of a gate signal in both forward bias and reverse bias. Product types include SCR, TRIAC, SCR-Module, IGBT-Single, etc. and you must check each before making a selection. Other mounting types include through-hole, surface mounting, and chassis mounting.
