Ferrite
Ferrite is a ceramic that has strong magnetism and is mainly composed of iron oxide. There are ferrite rings, ferrite rods and clamp filters, etc. Ferrite has a wide range of applications in the electrical components of most familiar products. Unlike metal magnetic materials, it conducts electricity poorly and is resistant to rust and chemicals. There are various sizes and shapes such as toroids, multi-wheels, beads and E-shapes. Ferrites are roughly classified into two types, hard and soft, according to their magnetic properties. When a strong magnetic field is applied to hard ferrite, the magnetism remains even after the magnetic field is removed, and it becomes a permanent magnet. Soft ferrite becomes a magnet when a magnetic field is applied, but loses magnetism when the magnetic field is removed.
