Name Plates
Name plates are parts used to display information such as the name and application on control panels or machinery. They are made from materials such as acrylic and aluminum. Push-button name plates are used for buttons such as push-button switches, selector switches and emergency stop buttons. They may also be called button name plates, eyeglass name plates or apron name plates. Switch name plates are used for switches such as snap switches, toggle switches and cam switches. Strip name plates are horizontally long name plates used to display the name or application. On acrylic, the text writing method is to engrave the text from the rear surface with a machine. On aluminum, the text is engraved from the front surface. Other methods include printing, etching, affixing stickers or using a text plate under a transparent cover. Methods such as double-sided tape or screw-mounting are used to install name plates.
