Question: What is a power socket?

Answer: A power socket is an electrical device that has a hole to connect with plug.
The power socket comes in a variety of shapes to choose from, depending on the standards of each country. The examples of power sockets commonly used in Thailand are:
- Power socket type A. It consists of two flat pin plug holes.
- Power socket type B. It consists of three plug holes
- two flat pin holes and one round hole for connecting to the ground.
- Power socket type O. This type of power socket is compatible with both round and flat pin plugs, such as Type A, Type B, and Type O plugs.

Question: How many types of power sockets and How are they different?

Answer: There are many types of power sockets, which a different shapes specific to the country. Let's take a look at some examples of electrical sockets commonly used in Thailand.
- Power socket type A has two flat holes with no grounding and can only be used with Type A plugs.
- Power socket type B has three holes, two flat holes, and one round hole for grounding. They are compatible with both Type A and Type B plugs.
- Power socket type C has two round holes without grounding and only compatible with Type C plugs.
- Power socket type F has two round holes with grounding and compatible with both Type C and Type F plugs.
- Power socket type O is compatible with both round and flat pin plugs, such as Type A, Type B, and Type O.

Question: How to install a power socket?

Answer: While it's important to have some basic knowledge of electrical wiring and the proper tools, the process itself is relatively straightforward. By following these steps carefully, you can ensure that your outlet is installed safely and securely.
1. Turn off the power supply or circuit breaker
2. Select the location for the power socket. Make sure it's a convenient, enough space around it and easy accessible location.
3. Mark the position of the socket on the wall
4. Cut the hole in the wall following the marked point. Be careful not to cut any wires or pipes behind the wall.
5. Run electrical cable from the nearest power source to the new socket location.
6. Connect the wiring to the socket. Follow the manufacturer's instructions carefully and use check secure connections.
7. Screw the power socket into place in the wall, making sure it's level and flush with the wall surface.
8. Turn the power back on to the circuit and test the power socket to make sure it's working properly.
