Excellent impact resistance and glass transparency. *Quoted from Takiron plate comprehensive catalog 2013.
[Features]
· Polycarbonate plate is a material with excellent impact-resistance among plastic materials.
· Plastic with a transparency equal to glass that refutes the common belief that transparent materials are easy to break.
· Possesses among the highest level of impact-resistance strength while using transparent materials with approximately 20 times the strength of rigid PVC and approximately 40 times the strength of acrylic.
· Superior light permeability rate of 85% or more for 5 mm transparent plate, the same transparency as high grade plate glass.
· Low thermal conductivity (1/5th of glass) and superior heat retention qualities. Useful for insulation effect.
· Can be used in a wide range of practical operating temperatures from -40°C to +120°C.
· 1 mm in thickness and resistant to high voltages of up to 30,000 volts. More than twice the insulating value as phenol-formaldehyde resin and best suited as electric insulation material.
· Weather-resistant grade that prevents yellowing and is barely affected by direct sunlight, wind, rain and temperatures, when compared to other plastic materials. Quality can be selected based on application.
· The Food Sanitation Act of Japan / UL certified product / railway car compliant certified product.
[Processing features of polycarbonate]
1. Little change in load (creep) and easy drilling and cutting.
2. Vacuum forming and heat bending possible.
3. Cold forming by bending into a curve under temperatures below room temperature is possible.
