MISUMI Irregular Cross Section Wire Springs
Irregular cross-section wire springs are springs made of wire rods having cross-sections machined into special (heteromorphic) shapes. Standard spring cross-sections are usually round, square, rectangular or hexagonal, while irregular cross-section wire springs have cross-sections of various shapes such as flat, semicircular, trapezoidal or triangular. To create springs with heteromorphic machining, the wire rods used to manufacture these springs have increased spring load capacity and durability, while the springs themselves have features such as more compact and lightweight designs. Some models have finely tuned customized designs to match specific applications or requirements. Irregular cross-section wire springs are made of many different materials, such as silicon-chrome spring steel and single metals such as titanium, aluminum and copper. Irregular cross-section wire springs with superior recyclability are also available, such as plastic models that can be incorporated directly into plastic products.
