ROHM Memory IC
Memory ICs are electronic components that save and store programs and data. They are used for many electronic and electrical devices including computers, machine tools, etc. Memory ICs are broadly divided into readable and writable RAMs and read-only ROMs. There are two types of mounting: through-hole mounting and surface mounting. There are two types of RAM: SRAM and DRAM, which lose data once the power supply is turned off, and NVRAM, which retains data even when the power supply is turned off. Both can read and write data. The ROM retains data even when the power supply is turned off, so it is used for saving programs. ROMs include PROMs that can be written only once at the time of manufacture, EPROMs that can erase and rewrite data with ultraviolet light, and EEPROMs that can electrically erase and rewrite data.
