Step Drills

Step drills are drills attached to electric drills, drill presses, and the like to make or widen holes. They are used to drill holes in thin steel plate and stainless steel plate as well as plastic plates and FRP plates. Drill blades are conically shaped, and holes of the desired size can be drilled to the depth they are pressed. Many use high-speed steel as the base material and are coated with titanium, which has a high heat resistance and maintains sharpness. Shanks are hexagonal or triangular chamfer and are selected according to the machine used. There are also spiral-shaped ones where cutting chips are easily ejected and have little cutting resistance as well as those with convenient functions such as retaining stoppers and thinning at the tip to bite into the workpiece well. They can be selected according to the purpose for which they are used.
