For O-Ring Grooves

O-ring grooves are high-speed steel or carbide cutters used for O-ring groove machining. There are cutter shapes that machine the O-ring shape by plunging, and cutter shapes that machine grooves transversely. They are mainly used by attaching them to milling machines and machining center processing machines. High speed steel is tough and hard to break, while carbide is rigid and has excellent abrasion-resistance. Cutters that process the O-ring shape by plunging are for relatively small diameters, so check the inner diameter, outer diameter, machining depth, and O-ring standard specifications according to purpose of machining. Cutters for machining grooves by side running have a dovetail groove shape. Check the diameter, wall angle, corner radius and O-ring standard specifications. O-ring standards are specified by the JIS B 2401 standard and AS568A standard, etc.
