General Purpose Logic

General-purpose logic ICs are integrated circuits that package a digital circuit's basic logic of AND, OR and NOT. These are also known as logic ICs or standard logic. In addition to the basic logic, a voltage level shifter is available that is used as an interface for converting voltage, as well as a buffer used for compensating for drive shortages when connecting output terminals to multiple ICs, and a flip-flop used for supporting data. General-purpose logic ICs are all the same shape, but some ultra-compact types are available that are even smaller than rice grains and can be installed in narrow spaces like those in mobile devices. Multiple elements of basic logic are included in a single general-purpose logic package. This means that if a logic element is not used, the input terminal can be connected to the power supply or ground, and the output terminal can be opened.
