IC Sockets

IC sockets are used for mounting an IC on a universal circuit board. Soldering an IC directly onto a circuit board should be avoided because the IC is easily damaged by heat or static electricity. Mount the IC socket onto the circuit board, confirm that the overall voltage and waveform are not abnormal, and then insert the IC as the last step to ensure the safety of the IC. The IC is easily replaceable when damaged and the IC can be removed and reused when the circuit board is no longer required. The IC socket has an identification indentation to prevent the IC from being mounted in the incorrect direction. The internal contact parts of the IC socket are available in two tip types; leaf spring and round pin. The leaf spring is a type that grips with two plates, while the round pin type maintains contact at four points, which makes poor contact difficult.
