    Product features and specifications

Basic specifications and features of the product

CVD coated grade MC7020 for stainless steel milling

In addition to excellent wear resistance, it suppresses thermal cracks and chipping that tend to occur when machining stainless steel, achieving stable machining over the long term.

    • Improved abrasion resistance
The fine-grained highly wear- resistant Al2 O layer and the fine fibrous TiCN layer provide excellent wear resistance in high-speed stainless steel milling.
    • Improved wear resistance
Sudden chipping of the cutting edge is suppressed by adopting a special cemented carbide base material with excellent toughness and thermal crack resistance.
    • Suppression of abnormal damage
Extremely smooth surface "All Black Super Even Coat" suppresses abnormal damage such as welding chipping.

Correction value F for feed amount per tooth due to variation in axial depth of cut ap

Cutter Insert RPHT Shank Type Cutting Conditions 2

    * If the recommended axial depth of cut is exceeded, the durability of the tool body may be reduced.

    Precautions for cutting conditions

    • These cutting conditions are a guideline for preventing chatter vibration in situations where machine rigidity and workpiece rigidity are high.
If chattering or insert chipping occurs during machining, adjust accordingly.
If the overhang is large or if pocketing is to be performed, lower the conditions.
    • The set value for the feed per tooth is the value when the axial depth of cut is ap=2.5 mm for ARP5 and ap=3 mm for ARP6.
Please multiply by the correction value F in the separate table according to the fluctuation of ap.
      Example Recommended feed per tooth for ARP5, SUS304, MP7130, ap=1: 0.2 mm/t. × 1.5 (correction value F) =0.3 mm/t.
    • For grooving, use feed at about 70% of the recommended rate, and for ramping, drilling, and plunging at about 50%.
    • Internal coolant is recommended for cutting titanium alloys and heat-resistant alloys.
It is even more effective if you use the separately sold coolant nozzle.

    Cautions/prohibitions

Note 1) When drilling, continuous long chips may fly out, so please be careful about safety.
Note 2) When drilling helical holes, be careful not to exceed the maximum APMX for the depth of cut per lap.
Note 3) Use the following formula to calculate the tool center locus ⌀dc when drilling a helical hole. (Tool center locus ⌀dc = desired hole diameter ⌀DH - tool diameter ⌀DCX)
Note 4) In order to prevent troubles caused by chip biting, be sure to remove chips with an air blow, etc., especially during grooving, ramping, helical, and drilling.
Note 5) Small diameter cutters with a large number of teeth produce small chips. Please pay attention to the depth of cut and feed rate, as chip clogging may occur.
Note 6) When machining with a large diameter cutter with a large ae, the chips become long and may cause chip clogging. Please adjust the depth of cut ap and feed before use.
