Product features and specifications
Basic specifications and features of the product
Multi-Corner Type General-Purpose Face Milling Cutter AHX series, unique 14-corner insert

Highly economical due to heptagon double-sided type
Double-sided insert uses double positive cutting edge shape with low cutting force, offering high efficiency machining with multiple inserts.
- Inscribed circle (IC): 13.4 mm
- Maximum depth of cut (APMX): 3.0 mm
The maximum depth of cut depends on the insert chip breaker.
Achieves high rigidity
By designing the insert to be thicker than conventional products, it supports high-load machining such as high feed milling.
Corner number display
Supports steel, stainless steel, and cast iron machining

Conical seating surface prevents body from being damaged
The conical seating with the Anti Fly Insert (A.F.I.) mechanism secures the seating area of the insert, and suppresses seating damage and scratch damage to the body even in the unlikely event of a sudden breakage.
In addition, rigidity is ensured by combining with ultra-thick inserts, it can be reliably used even without a seat.
Equipped with a coolant hole
It improves the cutting chip discharge capability and prevents chip welding.
1) No coolant hole on some cutter bodies.
2) Please purchase a set bolt separately when using the internal coolant.

Precautions for cutting conditions
1) Set the cutting conditions according to the operating environment by referring to the above table.
2) Wet cutting is recommended where the finished surface is regarded important. (Lifespan is shorter than in the case of dry cutting.)
3) The depth of cut that can be provided varies depending on the chip breaker.
4) If the workpiece clamp rigidity is low and the tool runout is long, machining should be conducted under the conditions of approx. 70 to 80% of the above recommended conditions for both cutting speed and feed rate.
5) Wet cutting is recommended for cutting stainless steel.

1) fr: Feed per revolution (For AHX475S, the feed rate per tooth fz is restricted by the cutting width ae.)
2) APMX: Maximum depth of cut (The maximum depth of cut of AHX440S depends on the insert chip breaker.)
3) The depth of cut and feed rate indicate the recommended conditions for carbon steel and steel alloy.
Chip breaker system
Chip breaker series that can handle various cutting conditions.

AHX640S wiper insert
Installing several inserts according to the number of teeth and the cutting conditions can improve the roughness of surface finish.

Cautions/prohibitions
Precautions for using wiper inserts
- 1) This wiper has 2 right-handed corners and 2 left-handed corners. Please attach it as shown in Fig. 1.
- 2) 1 wiper insert can produce a sufficient surface finish.
However, if the feed per revolution is equal to or greater than the wiper edge width, attach 2 or more wiper inserts so that they are evenly placed in the cutter body.
