AS ONE Corporation, Wire Grid Polarizing Filter

Caution
Product Description
[Features]
· Uses a wire grid film machined from aluminum net wire with spacing of 100 to 150 nm, allowing linearly polarized light to be extracted from everywhere between the visible light region and the infrared region.
· This can be used in polarization experiments or for light quantity adjustment using polarization.
· In the infrared region, an extinction ratio of about 10^-3 can be achieved.
· Better heat resistance than the absorption type polarizing filter.
· With the frame fixed, the element is easy to handle and to fix to the holder.
· Only the linearly polarized component oscillating in the direction of the mark on the metal frame is transmitted.
· A Glan-Thompson prism is also available (GTPB/GTPC) which achieves a high extinction ratio, transmittance, etc.
· * The transmittance and extinction ratio dramatically worsen with short wavelengths.
· * The majority of non-transmitted light will be reflected.
· * Take care to ensure that the return laser light does not enter the laser cavity when using with a laser.
· * Do not rub the wire grid surface with paper or cloth as it is easily scratched.
· * If debris is adhered to the front surface of the element, blow it away with an air blower.
