    [Features]
    · Half mirror that can be used in a wide wavelength range from visible to infrared.
    · As it is a plate type, the effective diameter can be increased without increasing the weight, unlike cubes.
    · It can also be used as a half mirror which aligns illumination systems, such as a coaxial epi-illumination observation system with an observation optical system.
    · Flat wavelength characteristics over a wide wavelength range, enabling the transmittance to reflectance ratio to stay about the same, even if the wavelength changes.
    · A lineup for visible light and infrared light (for semiconductor lasers) is available.
    · A plate type with an anti-reflection coating applied to the back side that helps to prevent ghost (stray light) images appearing due to epi-illumination.
    · There are 2 types: a parallel plane type in which the beam does not refract and a wedge type with little influence from ghosting or interference from back side reflections.
    · Wedge type has an arrow mark pointing towards front surface at the thickest part.
    · * Chromium film has an absorption of approximately 40%, and transmitted light or reflected light will be approximately 30% of incident light.
    · * If light enters from the back side, reflectance and reflectance wavelength characteristics will greatly vary due to effects from absorption film.
    · * When linearly polarized light such as laser light is used, reflectance and transmittance change depending on the polarization direction.
    · * When adjusting the branching ratio to 1:1, ensure the direction of polarization is set to 45 degrees or use circular polarization of light.
    · * Phase differences of incident light are not preserved in reflected light and transmitted light.
    · * Use a wave plate for phase difference compensation.
    · * Optical path of the transmitted light may be shifted a few millimeters parallel from the incident light, depending on the refractive index and thickness of the substrate. (A beam amplitude of approximately 30 minutes is added to parallel displacement of the optical path for the wedge type)
    · * Transmittance wavelength characteristics may change when used with an incident angle other than 45°.
