A chalk-form product that contains chemicals with a known melting point. It fuses when the temperature displayed on the case is reached.
Product Model | Other | Features 1 | Complies with the temperature requirements of WS D1.1: ASME Code, Section I, III and VIII: ANSI/ASME Code B31.1 and 31.3. | Features 2 | Indicated temperature error is guaranteed to be within ± 1% of indicated temperature. |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Features 3 | It does not employ lead, sulfur etc. as main ingredients. | Features 4 | Highly dense for a longer life compared to other manufacturer products. | Features 5 | Specified temperature can be distinguished because of color coding based on various temperatures. |
Features 6 | Holder holds the Tempilstik firmly and does not slip during work. | Features 7 | Temperature certificate can be issued. | Use | General temperature during welding, temperature for heat treatments such as hardening, quenching, and tempering, temperature for silver brazing, soft soldering, etc., interpass temperature during steel welding, welding temperature for nuclear power plant parts, welding of pipes, temperature during residual stress removal, annealing, temperature for forging, temperature for drawing process, temperature of punching die. |
Usage Method | Let Tempilstik touch the heated or heating item. If the Tempilstik melts, the user knows the measurement surface is higher than indicating temperature, and it doesn't melt, it is lower than that. Using 2 pieces of Tempilstik which each indicate different temperatures, temperature ranges can be measured accurately. | Responds to Inter-path Temperatures | Prepare Tempilstiks that correspond to the minimum and maximum welding temperatures of the metal to be welded. Check the intersection point 10 mm from the shoulder of the groove and the center of the weld length with two kinds of Tempilstiks. The optimal preheating temperature are where the lowest temperature choke melts and the highest temperature choke does not melt. For the interpass temperature, after the first pass, the temperature of the base material rises and the highest temperature choke melts. The optimum temperature for starting the second pass is the state where after some cooling time, the lowest temperature choke melts while the highest temperature choke does not melt. |
