The claw that grips the main rope is the only W claw in Japan. The fall arrester is grasped in the palm of the hand, so it is easy to operate. The hook thimble (for rope wear prevention) is prone to breakage because a load is applied to it. This has been overcome by employing an extra thick thimble.
