- *Do not apply excessive force to the terminal block when inserting tools. Doing so may cause damage to the terminal block.
How to connect screw-type terminal blocks
(Model XW4A, Model, XW4B, Model XW4E)
When using crimp terminals
- 1. Use rod type or plate type terminals. However, as the terminal block is a small type, be sure to check the information listed below before use.
- 2. When using crimp terminals, be aware that the insulation between the crimp terminals will be not be a finger-protecting structure if bare crimp terminals are used. Also be aware that the insulation distance between adjacent terminal blocks will be smaller.
Tightening terminal block screws
(Model XW4A, Model XW4B, Model XW4E)
- 1.Use a dedicated screwdriver (Model XW4Z-00B, -00C) when tightening terminal screws. Because it matches the slot width of the terminal screws, it will not damage the terminal screws.
- 2. Tighten the terminal screws according to "Tightening Torques" detailed in "Ratings/Performance". Doing this will prevent the screws from becoming loose or the wires from disconnecting.
Performing continuity checks on the terminal block screw heads
(Model XW4A, Model XW4B, Model XW4E)
Make sure the screws are tightened when performing continuity checks on the screw heads.
If a screw is not tightened or only partially tightened, it may cause it to become structurally non-conductive.
