A Din rail is a metal strip of standard dimensions originally defined in specifications published by DIN (Deutsches Institut für Normung) in Germany, and since adopted as European (EN) and international (ISO) standards. It is made from cold rolled steel that is zinc coated and passivated. The coating thickness is a minimum of 8 microns. They are available in standard or slotted rail and supplied in various lengths. • Provides a convenient and fast method of assembling any combination of electrical and electronic devices into application-specific systems• They are quite compact, but fully functional at the same time• Din rail is very easy to assembly and extensive standardisation have made this item increasingly popular, especially in industrial control, system builders, hardware suppliers• All aspects of industrial systems – terminals, signal conditioning, circuit breakers, relays, motor starters and even programmable logic controllers (PLCs) are available as components that can be simply snapped onto the rail to build up the configuration• Cold rolled steel construction• Zinc coated and clear passivated• Meets current BS, DIN and CENELEC standards
