Attachment Design
- 1. Design the attachment so that both fingers grip the workpiece when they are in parallel with each other.
- 2. Take care to enable fine adjustment of the attachment by inserting an adjustment shim, etc.
- 3. If the shim is too thin, the gripping force becomes insufficient and the workpiece may become unstable. Conversely, if the shim is too thick, the toggle mechanism is difficult to activate and a large impact sound may sometimes be produced. Carefully check this point.
- 4. The gripping status may become unstable due to continual wear of the bearing or shaft during operation. If this happens, make adjustments such as using a thicker shim according to the conditions.
Precautions
- *When the toggle is used to grip a workpiece, if the rod is pushed or a load is placed on it, the toggle mechanism may not work. This may result in shifting or dropping the workpiece, which could be dangerous.
- *If the grip is unstable, use shims, etc. to adjust the attachment.
- *To verify the gripping condition or to make any adjustments, make sure to do so in an area where the air chuck or the workpiece will not fall.
- *Be sure to read the product-specific precautions in the manufacturer's catalog before use.
- *See the manufacturer's catalog for product information other than the above.
