Structural diagram / component parts

Structural diagram at collision
When a colliding object strikes against the piston rod end, it applies pressure to the oil inside the piston. This pressurized oil then jets out through the orifice inside the piston. This generates hydraulic resistance that absorbs the energy of the colliding object.
The oil that shoots out of the orifice is collected inside the outer tube by means of the accumulator expanding and contracting.

Structural diagram at return
When the colliding object is removed, the return spring pushes out the piston rod. At the same time, negative pressure causes the check ball to unseat to allow oil to return to the piston rod and the piston, ready for the next impact.
