How to Use of OMRON Micro Switches
OMRON Micro Switches Mounting Hole Dimensions

OMRON Micro Switches Usage Notes
Micro Switches Regarding installation
Use M3 screws for mounting and securely attach using flat washers, spring washers, etc. The tightening torque should be 0.39 to 0.59 N m.
Control settings
In the case of pin Micro Switches, the operating body must be set to press the pushbutton from directly above. The pushbutton is covered with a rubber cap, and applying a load to the pushbutton from the side can cause damage to thepushbutton and deterioration of the seal.

Handling
Please be careful when handling the switch so as not to tear the rubber seal on the push button.
Regarding use with Micro Switches
Using a general-purpose switch when switching a Micro Switches circuit can cause poor contact. We recommend using the switch within the range of use, referring to the diagram below. Even if a microload type is used within the area shown inthe diagram below, if the load generates an inrush current when Micro Switches, contact wear will be rapid and durability will decrease, so insert a contact protection circuit as necessary. The minimum applicable load is the N-levelreference value. This represents the failure level at a confidence level of 60% ( λ60
). (JIS C5003)
λ60 = 0.5x10-6/times means that at a confidence level of 60%, failure is estimated to occur less than 1/2,000,000 times.

Cautions and Prohibitions of OMRON Micro Switches
OMRON Micro Switches Safety Precautions
Protective structure
Micro Switches Do not use underwater.
The lead wire type meets the test conditions for the following regulations, but these tests are to check the ingress of water after leaving it underwater for a certain period of time, and are not to open or close the switch underwater.
JIS C0920: Degrees of protection provided by enclosures for electrical equipment (IP Code)
IEC 60529: Degrees of protection provided by enclosures (IP Code)
Protection class: IP67 (checks the ingress of water after leaving it underwater for 30 minutes at a depth of 1m)
Protection and chemical adhesion
Avoid contact with oil or chemicals
as this may cause the materials used to change or deteriorate.
Micro Switches Regarding soldering
- When soldering the connection lead wire to
the terminal, first wrap the conductor around the terminal hole before soldering.
As a guideline, the soldering time should be less than 5 seconds with a soldering iron tip temperature of 350-400°C, and no external force should be applied for 1 minute after soldering. Working at excessive temperatures or heating for long periods of time may cause the characteristics of the switch to deteriorate.
