· Large transmission capacity: The tapered grid is made using a high tensile alloy-based spring material that has been quenched and tempered, and it has a composition with residual compression stress due to performing a precision short pinning on the surface. The residual compression stress exhibits benefits that can negate the stress that occurs when a load acts on the grid, and it works to reduce and maintain any stress that is generated. This results in a ground-breaking improvement in the transmission capacity which leads to longer life and provides options for more compact coupling.
· Long maintenance intervals: The maintenance and inspection intervals can be extended more than even before when this coupling is attached and provided with a long-term grease (LTG).
* LTG (LONG TERM GREASE): Normally, inner part of the coupling incurs a large centrifugal force which leads to decomposition and degradation. This results in quicker wear and fatigue. This LTG grease was developed specifically for couplings, and demonstrates durability even when there is separate between thickeners and oil components that are often generated when using normally grease. When adding LTG grease at the time of installation, additional grease will not be required as long as the grid part does not lose all of the grease.
· Easy to assemble: The tapered grid is a single layer which makes it easy for anyone to insert into the specified location. A small-sized hub that is transition fit into the shaft to provide ease in assembly. The cover can be assembled using standard tools.
· Easy to maintain and inspect: The grid is a consumable part of the SF coupling that comprises only a very small part of the cost of the entire coupling. The tapered grid can be easily removed by removing the cover and using either a screwdriver or a crowbar. Replacing the grid does not require re-centering or moving the connected equipment like that seen in cases where there are many rubber coupling or gear couplings, and replacement can be completed by just interlocking the gears. It takes a lot of effort when having to move connected equipment which can result in higher costs, however there is no need for this with the SF coupling.
· Flexible design: The parts have sizes that are interchangeable with the current model T series tapered grids and SF couplings.
