Product Description
A self-tapping screw can be secured directly to a component even if a female thread has not been cut into the component.
Type 1 self-tapping screws have a pointed tip and are characterized by having the coarsest pitch (distance between threads) among Types 1 to 3 self-tapping screws.
Type 1 is mainly used when the component is wood, thin steel plate (recommended for plate thickness of 1.2 mm or less), hardboard, etc.
It is also possible to use a Type 1 self-tapping screw instead of a wood screw (however, a wood screw cannot be used as a substitute for a self-tapping screw).
