Product Description

A bearing in which an outer ring is formed from a thin steel plate by precision drawing, the raceway surface is surface-hardened, and then a needle-shaped roller and a retainer are assembled.
[Features]
・ It has the smallest cross-sectional height of any bearing with an outer ring, enabling space reduction and cost savings.
・ Compact design is possible with the shaft directly as the raceway surface without using the inner ring.
・ The outer ring has a structure in which the needle roller and the retainer are not separated.
・ Retaining rings are not required for fixing in the axial direction by simply press-fitting into a rigid housing with an appropriate fit.

Shell-type needle roller bearings that can reduce space and cost

It is a bearing in which an outer ring is formed from a thin steel plate by precision drawing, the raceway surface is surface-hardened, and then a needle-shaped roller and a retainer are assembled (as for the part numbers with "M" in the suffix, they are heat treated after assembling). It has the smallest cross-sectional height of any bearing with an outer ring, enabling space reduction and cost savings.
Usually, a design is taken in which the shaft is directly used as the raceway surface without using the inner ring. The outer ring has a structure in which the needle-shaped roller and the retainers are not separated, and the bearing is easy to handle because it does not require a retaining ring to fix it in the axial direction, just by press-fitting it into a rigid housing with an appropriate fit.

About allowable rotational speed

The permissible rotational speed is the permissible rotational speed that can be achieved based on the following assumptions.

  • Use under conditions where an appropriate amount of grease recommended by NTN is sealed, and the heat generated by sufficient familiar operation, cooling of the outer cylinder, etc., is removed.
  • Use with constant pressure preload.
