The shielded type concentrates the magnetic flux at the front of the sensor, with the range of the inductive magnetic field directed straight ahead of the proximity switch.

Non-shielded coil types can increase the detection distance, but because there is no object protection, they are easily affected by surrounding metals.
Please pay attention during installation.

To prevent signal interference, the distance from the sensor surface to the detected metal object should be ≥ 3Sn (Sn: sensor sensing distance), and the distance between two adjacent proximity sensors should be ≥ D (D: sensor diameter).

There is no protection around the sensing coil. The sensing surface must maintain a distance of Y from the mounting surface (M5 to M8, Y=6 mm; M12, Y=9 mm).
The distance between the sensing surface and the detected metal object should be ≥ 3Sn, and the distance between two adjacent proximity sensors should be ≥ 2D (D is the sensor diameter).

For sensors installed opposite each other, the minimum distance between the two sensing surfaces must be ≥ 6Sn
