    ■Straightness measurement method

Shaft, One-end male thread type Related image 2_Circularity
Support both ends of the shaft with V-blocks,
rotate the shaft once at any point, and measure the amplitude of the dial gauge.
Half of the measured amplitude is taken as the straightness.

    Hardness and surface treatment precautions

■Decrease in hardness of processed parts

・The base material is processed after hardening, but the annealing process may result in a decrease in hardness.
*Hardness after reduction: Approximately 10 to 40 HRC

    ■ Hardness reduction range

・About 10 mm from the processed part

    ■ Hardness reduction due to annealing

    ・Male thread ・Keyway ・Flat chamfer ・90 degree flat chamfer

    ■ Effective hardened layer depth

The effective hardened layer depth varies depending on the external dimensions and material.

■About hard chrome plating and plating layers on processed parts

    • Hard chrome plating is done after the base material surface is treated, so there is no plating process on the processed area.
    • In the example below, only the "///" part is hard chrome plated.

Example) Remaining plating: Stepped male thread shaft with additional flat surface
