Photoelectric sensors and fiber optic sensors are devices that use various properties of light to detect changes in the amount of light reflected or blocked by the detected object. The sensor body needs to be used together with a wide array of other parts and devices such as a sensor bracket (reflecting mirror), reflector and sensor controller (PLC). Photoelectric sensors and fiber optic sensors can detect many different types of objects such as glass, metal, plastic, wood and liquids. This versatility has led to their use on production lines in plants and at a wide range of other locations.
